Don’t miss this year’s morning keynote speaker, Ms. Mary J. Miller, acting Assistant Secretary of Defense for Research and Engineering. Ms. Mary J. Miller is responsible for the Department of Defense (DoD) strategies and supporting plans to develop and leverage technologies needed to ensure continued U.S. technological superiority. She provides leadership, establishes policy and guidance for the development and execution of the DoD Science and Technology (S&T) enterprise, with an annual budget in excess of $12 billion. She oversees matters from basic science and capability prototyping to research and engineering at the 63 DoD laboratories; promotes coordination and cooperation across DoD, between DoD and other federal and non-federal agencies and organizations and ensures technological exchange with allied and friendly nations. kristen_baldwinThe introductory remarks will be presented by Ms. Kristen Baldwin, Principal Deputy, Office of the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Systems Engineering. She is the principal systems engineering advisor to the Secretary of Defense and is responsible for establishing and executing engineering policy and oversight across the Department. Her oversight includes concept engineering and analysis, design, development and manufacturing, and independent program review and assessment of the Department’s major acquisition programs. She leads more than 40,000 Defense acquisition professionals in the DoD Engineering (ENG) and Production, Quality, and Manufacturing (PQM) workforce.
