SERC Doctoral Students Forum 2017: Call for Nominations – Deadline Extended

The deadline for the SERC Doctoral Students Forum 2017 – Call for Student Nominations has been extended to Thursday, July 20, 2017.

Please plan to nominate doctoral students from your university for the SERC Doctoral Students Forum (SDSF), planned for Tuesday, November 7, 2017 in Washington DC. It is expected that the doctoral students that you nominate will submit a technical paper that is in alignment with their research as part of this nomination.

The papers will be assessed for the SDSF:

  • to be presented at the event,
  • displayed via the poster session and
  • considered for the Best Student Paper award.

There are ten 45-minute presentation slots available (35 minutes for the presentation; 10 minutes for Q&A). While ten research papers will be chosen to be presented at the SDSF, with an opportunity to showcase a poster illustrating the research being performed by the doctoral student, only one will be selected for the Best Student Paper award; an award which now includes a grant check for $1,500.

Each submission should include two items:

  1. a nomination form completed by the faculty member, and
  2. an attached technical paper by the doctoral student.

Submissions should be sent to no later than Thursday, July 20, 2017.
